….correction! The post a little further down the page was written by AI! First… some thoughts:
Anyone working in marketing can’t escape the latest push by the ever innovating martech industry for AI generated content. Whether it’s Google Ad copy or long form blog posts, there are a number of content creation tools on the market. I had a little time this week in-between campaigns to test out jasper.ai and was pretty impressed with what I found. Lets start with the need to use AI generated content:
1. Generating content is time consuming
It seems that marketers are constantly churning out content to keep up with SEO requirements for Google and providing fresh material for teams to share on social media. With the added pressure of creating short form video content for TikTok, Instagram,FB and Google Web Stories – this leaves little time to work on the rest of the job – analytics, reporting, research and sales enablement.
What if you could create content that resonated with your audience without spending hours stuck in front of a computer?
2. Writers block
There’s always the dreaded worry of writers block. You know you need to set some time out today to write some blog posts but your creativity just isn’t flowing at the moment and you’re not sure where to start. Perhaps you’ve written a basic piece of content already but feel its not very engaging.
Whether you need some topic ideas, an outline to work from our to spruce up a piece of content. The tool has you covered. I just ran this section through Jasper – lets see what it does:
We all have those days where we can’t seem to find our flow. It’s not uncommon for writers block or even just feeling uninspired, but don’t worry because there are some easy ways that you’ll be able create fresh content with ease! The first step is making sure what you’re working on will keep people engaged and interested in reading more of your posts rather than getting bored quickly which helps prevent them from scrolling down before finishing off what they started reading (a big no-no).
Okay. It’s not perfect but you get the gist!
3. Writing what your audience wants you to write
One powerful feature of AI generated content creation is the ability to suggest topics based on what your market is searching for. This gives you an array of ideas to work with and also puts you ahead of the competition in your content strategies.
How does it work?
Using the user friendly editor – start typing and then after a minute or so (probably based on word count but I’m not too sure!) you can click “Compose” and Jasper will continue writing a couple of paragraphs for you in tune with your tone and the topic in hand.
I wanted to write a quick blog post on how you can make your business stand out in a competitive market. Using a few keywords and asking it to consider “Sales directors” as an audience with a “witty” tone – this literally took me about 7 minutes:
The B2B Technology market is becoming increasingly competitive. With competition among businesses increasing, it can be difficult for companies to stand out. So what can you do to remain ahead of the curve? Here are five tips to help you stand out in a competitive market:
1. Take control of your online presence
When was the last time your website was updated? Have you checked to see if it’s Google Friendly? Checking Google Search Console, Page Speed Insights and some of the free SEO audits offered by Moz, Ahrefs and Semrush can give you invaluable insight on the site user experience.
2. Customer experience needs to be the driving force behind your marketing strategy
You need to establish a strong customer experience if you hope to differentiate yourself from your competitors. Providing great customer service is important, but just as vital are regular communication, personalization and social media engagement.
A strong customer experience means happy customers who are willing to share their stories with other potential customers.
3. Content is king
Content remains one of the most valuable tools in your marketing strategy, and with Google favoring unique and useful content, it’s essential that you focus on generating high-quality content as part of your sales process.
There are many ways to increase sales using content – case studies, white papers, blogs… if you don’t have resource available to create this content, maybe enlist the help of a marketing agency.
4. Always be closing
It’s said that sales is a numbers game, and if you’re focused on generating leads then you need to follow through with them until the sale is closed.
Sales directors should look at their lead funnel – which campaigns are bringing in leads? What can be done to improve these campaigns? Increase referral traffic?
This is by NO means perfect but has certainly provided a good outline to help me get started.
Okay… should we be worried for our jobs?
We don’t believe so. You can never beat the human touch! However, this takes away a lot of the monotony around content creation. Coming up with ideas, setting up an outline and adding bulk to our work can now be done in seconds.
Before I started this little experiment, I actually didn’t realise how monotonous content creation was. This certainly allows me more bandwidth for creativity and reporting.
I don’t think RicochetB2B is quite ready to invest but can definitely see room for it on our tool belt in the future.
